The quilt is looking fantastic. I'm digging the colors, and the reed addition is too cool.

You're totally teasing us along here! I'm dying to see the whole thing :)

Thank you so much Helen!! I'm so sick of cutting these reeds (so monotonous and such), but I really want to build up at least a couple layers... I'm glad you like it so far :)

I'm sorry I'm late with this. How'd the critique go? I love the colors.

Hi Jen! The critique went pretty well. I mean in that they didn't say it was horrible, haha. Basically, they all said what I was feeling but couldn't really place: I need to simplify it and make it more mysterious and such. It's too literal right now and doesn't really entice the viewer. You can't see the stitching that well from a distance, and you can tell it's just a water scene, so what's the point of looking up close? So, I dyed a ton of silk organza and am doing some shibori samples this weekend and will be covering some parts up and working around others. I'm pretty excited. So, in terms of where I'm going now, it was a good critique. Ha, long answer huh?

Thank you Theresa. Color is really important to me, and I admire your eye for it, so I really appreciate it :) Happy Easter to you too!

It looks great at this point, I can't wait to see what you do with the organza!

Hi Jesse! Thanks :) The organza should make it really so much better. At least, it better!

when I need a thread colour I always end up buying a big handful they are like pick and mix for adults. I love the colours you have chosen here.

Me too! It's so much fun. Just the same with embroidery thread, too!
