So Far...

cool bridge in ohio

mushrooms on a tree in pennsylvania

we went through a walkway that spanned the freeway! ohio and new york have some pretty cool "service areas", that are like rest areas, except pimped out. michigan has really crappy rest areas compared to the ones we've seen out here.

flags against the sky

we were in rochester, ny last night visiting matt and his roommate lizzie and her boyfriend chad. we had such a good time! there was a starbucks in a house! it was way cool. it was also storming, which was way cool. the inside was neat, and they have a break room upstairs. jealous!

we went to oasis, a restaurant right across the street from the starbucks. they were a mediterranean grill, including italian and middle-eastern. i got this amazing pasta dish. soooo good!

a closer shot of starbucks. the flowers were so pretty. i wish i could plant flowers at my starbucks. and their seating area is so nice!

a pretty queen anne's lace outside tap & mallet, a bar in rochester that we went to.
all of the bars in new york are smoke-free, much to eric's disappointment and my delight. they had mead, too!! it was really good, and produced locally in new york. we all tried each other's beers (lizzie got a framboise that was really good and raspberry tasting) and our waiter even brought us a bunch of samples.

we had such a wonderful first day of our trip. visiting matt in rochester was awesome, and i finally got to hang out with lizzie and meet her boyfriend. he's a hydrogen fuel cell engineer! cool, huh?

needless to say, we were really really tired when we went to bed...

Thanks for visiting!

You need to return in fall when I know more about the town :) and we can go to the Eastman House.

Can't wait to read more about your trip.

I love framboise. That walkway above the highway? The last time I was there Tiny Tim was walking towards us. We hadn't slept in close to 24 hours and it seemed really surreal. He died shortly after that.

It sounds like you had a lovely time in Rochester. Our backyard is filled with Queen Anne's Lace right now.

Enjoy Maine!

I'm coming back Matt!!

Qin: it was so so good! Lots of cheese and basil...

Jen: The framboise was really good! I can't believe you were at the same walkway! I love Queen Anne's lace.

Suann: You are exactly correct with both comments! We're having such a great time.
